Powder coating

Come and see us, we would love to show you what we can do

Powder coating is a service we offer to turn your project into a professional finished product.

The process of powder coating involves applying dry powder paint to the item (that is clean of rust or paint). It then enters a curing oven, which can be heated up to 200 degrees celsius. This is where the powder melts, bonds and cures to the surface.

The result is a coating which provides a uniform, durable and high quality coloured finish.

This finish can be used on new items to alter the colour but it’s very popular in restoring the old or weathered, making them look as good as new.

What can be powder coated

Powder coating is used on thousands of products around us and ongoing technology breakthroughs are expanding the list every day. Some include:

  • push bike frames and accessories
  • motor bike frames and accessories
  • car parts:
  • bumper bars
  • luggage racks
  • license plate frames
  • rims
  • handrails and stairways
  • steel gates
  • outdoor and indoor steel settings
  • tap fittings
  • brackets
  • fencing
  • shade poles
  • antiques:
  • bed frames
  • ornaments
  • milk cans
  • old irons
  • shoe lasts
  • wrought iron

Basically, anything made from:

  • aluminium
  • steel
  • galvanized steel
  • stainless steel

Colours

The colours available are extensive including the more exotic pearl coatings. We have charts to help you choose the best option. The exotic range of colours works particularly well on bikes and car parts.

Unlike other paints that are mixed to alter the colour or shade, powder coating is a set colour and is unable to be altered.
